Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus Review

Hello and welcome to my Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus review.

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tire is specially designed for all types of luxury coupes and sedans for drivers who place an emphasis on all-season traction, precision handling and enhanced ride comfort. Featuring a lower rolling resistance tread design, the Pirelli P7 uses the latest in tire technology to reduce braking distance and increase overall tread life.

Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus review

Dry Traction

Traction on dry streets and highways is as good as it gets for a touring all-season tire. They confidently grip the road and provide the type of feedback you would expect from a good quality tire. Braking distance is reduced due in part to the higher silica content and low oil used in the tread compound.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Wet Traction

Driving on wet pavement is area where the P7 Plus sets itself above most other comparable tires, but comes in just under the best in class when pushed to the limits. Wider circumferential grooves, along with lateral and longitudinal siping around the tire, deliver solid wet traction and handling. Braking on wet pavement is very good, and hydroplane resistance is equally as good.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Winter Traction

For most all-season tires, winter handling is where you find one of their biggest downfalls, although there are exceptions of course. The Pirelli P7 is one of those. Unless you are planning on driving through an avalanche of snow or on a sheet of solid ice, this tire is going to get you safely to your destination. With its high-dense sipes around the tread, it does a good job of gripping moderate amounts of snow, slush and rain, while safely bringing you to a stop.

Rating Verdict – Good

Cornering Grip

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 rates well when it comes to cornering performance. This is a tire that provides excellent stability when taking corners both in and around town, as well as at higher speeds on the open road. Ratings and reviews among other tire owners also speak highly on the performance of this tire. Arguably, this model is not built for serious sports car like high speed cornering, but it does hold its own much better than you might expect.

Rating Verdict – Good

Steering Response

Another plus for this tire. Steering is quick and responsive on all types of pavement. There’s not a lot more we can add other than to say it simply provides a confident feel regardless of conditions.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Ride Comfort

Ride comfort on the Pirelli P7 Plus is outstanding. The asymmetrical tread pattern and advanced technology has given this tire an above average ride quality that is equal, if not better, than other comparable models from Michelin, Continental and other tire makers.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Noise Comfort

Pirelli has added pitch sequencing to an optimized tread pattern to give this tire a very quiet ride. Whether on the highway or around town, road noise is nearly non-existent on this tire and adds substantial enjoyment to those long drives.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Treadlife/Warranty

With a 70,000 mile treadlife warranty you would expect to find a longer lasting lifespan out of this tire and that’s exactly what you should get. Pirelli’s high silica content in the tread compound helps give the P7 All Season Plus a longer treadlife, which saves you money over time. Reviews from others confirm this as well.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Price/Value

Prices on the P7 All Season Plus start at around $120 and are comparable to other top touring all-season tires in this class. For example, on a 215/55R 17 94V, the cost is approximately $151 for the P7. The same exact size for the Michelin MXV4 is around $160, and for the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus it is $149.

Performance wise, I give the P7 a little higher rating over the two. With its 70K mile warranty this is a tire that delivers excellent value for the money.

Rating Verdict – Excellent

Final Verdict

Pirelli’s slogan for the P7 All Season Plus is “One tire. Four seasons. No compromises.”, and it definitely fits this tire perfectly. With its exceptional traction, quiet ride and longer lasting treadlife, we feel the P7 Plus is among the best touring all-season tires you’ll find available today.
