“iPod users are all theives.”

In a recent Billboard article, which opens by extolling the wonderousness that is the Microsoft Zune, and how great it is that they’re giving a free concert, Universal Music Group’s (who has basically extorted a “tribute” out of Microsoft in the form of a bounty on every Zune sold) chairman and CEO Doug Morris is quoted as saying, “These devices are just repositories for stolen music, and they all know it, So it’s time to get paid for it.”

As I posted in comment on TAB,

“I don’t know about anyone else. But I’m certainly going to be a LOT less inclined to purchase any music released by Universal, or any of their shell labels. Not that I’ll be more inclinced to pirate, mind you. Any artist who chooses to ally themselves with such narrow-mindedness doesn’t deserve to have me as a consumer, let alone a fan.”

I think that pretty much sums up my feelings entirely. In fact, you couldn’t get me to pirate any Universal Music Group’s stuff now. I’m also certainly not going to buy another Microsoft product, for bowing to these asshats.
