Forget walking on water. . .
Courtsey of Pink Tentacle, one of the most captivating and “schwa?” articles I think I’ve read in a long while.
Japanese researchers have developed a display system that can generate characters using colliding waves in a small wave pool. A ring of 50 wave generators point toward the center of a small pool and coordinate waves to produce a momentary character in the center of the pool. The characters survive for monly a moment and take a few seconds to generate. Still, it’s wickedly cool to see what they can produce using water.
Not only is this amazingly cool, I can’t really think of a decent application. Which, of course, makes this my kind of technology.
Pair this with the Infernoptix flame pixel diaply and you might have something.
